18 May: Hiked 15.1 miles from stream at mile 238.5 to Max Patch Bald (mile 253.6). Stopped at Standing Bear Farm for resupply where Ryan caught up with us. I hiked ahead of John and Ryan and made time for more photos along the way. Met Kevin, aka Mr. Fabulous, drone operator from Alabama; he was heading to Trail Days in Damascus. Mr. Fabulous was flying his drone on top of Max Patch Bald around sunset. Hopefully, I’ll have some of the drone photos posted later.
19 May: Woke up in time to watch the sunrise. Hiked 19.9 miles from Max Patch Bald to Hot Springs, NC. Stayed at a local motel in town, did laundry and resupplied for the next leg.
20 May: First Zero day (entire day off) of my trip. Moved to the Laughing Heart Hostel, ate and lazed about in Hot Springs. AT&T doesn’t have service here and I am having issues uploading my pictures over the hostel’s wifi, so I will have to finish adding pictures when I have a network signal at a later date.
